Welcome to the April “All You Have To Do Is Dream”
Issue of the Tibetan Terrier Tribune!!
April is the perfect month to
set aside some time to “dream” about all the
wonderful things you would like to see yourself doing with
your Tibetan Terriers! Maybe you are dreaming about
a new title on your dog, or perhaps it’s the dream of
seeing your TT compete at a National Specialty, or even the
dream of just attending a National Specialty!!
I would like to encourage you
all to dream and DREAM BIG! As a kid, I got the
label of being a “daydreamer”. I can remember adults
telling me, ”You can’t do that, it’s not possible, and for
me, that was the motivation I needed to pursue a dream
until I saw it unfold before my very eyes. As a child, I
actually did do some very dangerous things because I saw
nothing that could stand in the way of me grabbing onto the
dream….like the dream of riding an out of
control Appaloosa horse bareback when no one could stay on
him for more than 2 seconds! I did it because I
daydreamed about training that horse. I was only 10
years old then and I will be the first to admit that age has
squashed a lot of my dreams…with adulthood came a lot
less “throw caution to the wind” and a lot more self-doubt.
I am living proof though that dreams really can come
true!! Most of you know by now that Maestro won his first
Best In Show in March, and I can remember the exact moment
in time that I stood outside by our pool with my “DePauw UN”
coffee mug, turned to my husband who was watching Micey gait
across the yard and said to him…Remember this day June 10th,
2003…we are looking at our first Best In Show dog. And in
my heart I BELIEVED IT!
So, don’t feel embarrassed or
silly to “dream” like you did when you were a kid! I
still do it everyday, and I love being a “dreamer”!
Our contest last month was
beautiful, my thanks to all who shared their lovely photos!
